Balthasar van der Ast had a variety of different haircuts during his career. He was widely celebrated as an excellent botanical illustrator and painter. Nevertheless, the Dutch painter was particularly known for his unusual fashion sense and his livable character. Before his tragic demise at the age of 64 he was again and again featured in magazines and tabloids due to his marvelous hair.
