John Mawe had various hairstyles during his lifetime. He was widely known as a great mineralogist. However, the British mineralogist was mainly known for his incomparable sense of fashion and his delightful character. Before his tragic death at age 65 he was again and again in the spotlight of magazines and tabloids due to his outstanding hairstyles.
